Cold Cash

cold cash cover Ever wonder what it would be like to be an average law abiding citizen, so far in debt that you'd consider pulling a bank robbery?  That's the dilemma of two Upper Michigan heros in Cold Cash, a wacky, fast moving-adventure novel by Jerry Harju.

The two have a plan.  Hold up a bank and pay off their debts with the stolen loot.  It's actually a very good plan, walk into the bank dressed as snowmobilers wearing helmets and ski masks, slip the teller a holdup note, and then make a getaway through the woods on snowmobiles.  The perfect heist, right?  Well...maybe not quite perfect.  There are a few complications, not the least of which are two strong-willed women.

In 1999 Cold Cash won a Midwest Independent Publishers Association Book Achievement Award.

"Cold Cash is a hot read.  The suspenseful tale will leave you laughing out loud.  Read every hilarious word of this gem."

"Cold Cash, a saga of a bungled bank heist, offers laugh-out-loud thrills."
The Grand Rapids Press
"Cold Cash is a madly funny romp of a tale.  A whirlwind ride from disaster to disaster, following the dopiest pair since 'Dumb and Dumber,' with a pistol-toting wronged woman thrown into the mix.  The laughs keep flopping along."
The Traverse City Record Eagle
"Jerry Harju's latest book, Cold Cash, may change the perception of Finns being shy and quiet.  The reader is off on an adventurous journey through a magnificent mire of intrigue, romance, and humor.  The plot is punctuated with poetic prose."
The Finnish American Reporter
"Fans of Jerry Harju will find Cold Cash an enjoyable read, including abundant doses of local U.P. color, humor, and winter survival tips.  There's even some good old-fashioned romance thrown in."
The Marquette Mining Journal
